The Calming Corner offers various holistic therapies.
My name is Angie, and welcome to The Calming Corner. A space for you to relax, rest, and reconnect with yourself.
I am also a member of the UK Reiki Guild and offer Reiki freely, this is totally optional on request.
I believe sounds and vibrations can be healing.
Using various playing techniques, vibrations, and sounds with intention, a person can gently transition from his or her normal waking state of consciousness, or doing state (beta), to a highly relaxed state of meditative consciousness (alpha, theta).
In these relaxed states, a person’s own innate healing abilities can work more effectively to bring the person back into optimal vibration and alignment. This can enhance a person’s own healing abilities and overall health and sense of well-being. At the very least, an hour for yourself to relax, with immersive sounds, time for yourself or a highly vibrational experience as natural as breathing or your heart beating.
I am an Internationally Qualified Sound Therapist and completed my training with the Sound Healing School UK earlier this year. Together with my previous work history, I have the skills and training to hold a confidential, safe space to self-heal.
As a Sound Therapist and Reiki practitioner, I am insured to offer therapy sessions. I am not a licensed health professional. As such, I will not diagnose, prescribe, perform medical treatments, or interfere with the treatment of a qualified physician or any other licensed medical professional.
The services I offer are considered complementary to traditional Western medical practices - holistic – meaning a sense of well-being and alternative therapy. Sound baths are generally suitable for most people, either in a group session or as one-to-one private treatment.
However, there are a few considerations: I would therefore ask everyone attending either as part of a group, couples, or a one-to-one private therapy session, to read through the contraindications and then by ticking the box to show these have been read and fully understood, as a disclaimer, prior to booking,
When attending, do wear comfortable loose clothing that feels right for you, and I advise warm socks, as body temperatures can drop, when in a relaxed state.
I CANNOT PROVIDE YOGA MATS, please bring your own. Also, a blanket if you require one, again body temperatures may drop.
REMEMBER – to bring water to stay hydrated after the session, and during the days that follow.
Sometimes people may fall asleep, and that’s totally okay. In the interest of everyone attending a group session, if you are aware that you snore – please lay in a position, perhaps on your side – where the impacts are less – but please still attend - perhaps allowing a bigger gap around you and being mindful of others.
